Shipping policy

1. Production time

Most pieces are made in small batches but can be pre-ordered or made to order when out of stock.

Unless otherwise stated on the product page or in the announcement banner:

In-stock pieces are normally sent within 1 week
Pre-ordered/made to order pieces are normally sent within 4-6 weeks

These are estimates, but if something takes longer, I'll let you know.

2. Shipping and delivery

Parcels are shipped from Norway. Once your order has been sent, you'll receive a confirmation by email including tracking information.

Delays can occur around holidays, peak periods, and during customs processing for international orders.

Please check that your shipping address is correct before placing your order.

If a parcel arrives damaged or does not arrive, contact me as described in the Return Policy.

Domestic shipping

Within Norway (mainland) I ship with Posten/Bring. Delivery typically takes 2–5 days.

International shipping

I ship from Norway to the UK and most of the EU (excluding Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, and Malta).

To EU and UK destinations I ship with FedEx. Delivery typically takes 2–4 business days, not counting customs processing time.

Customs and import charges

All international orders are exports. This means import VAT applies at your destination country's rate, plus any customs duties and handling fees. These are not included in your order total and are your responsibility.

In Japanese, honne (本音) is what you really think and feel. Its opposite, tatemae (建前), is the public version: smoothing things over and saying what’s expected to keep the peace.

Some tatemae makes everyday life easier. The problem is when tatemae becomes automatic, and your own opinions and feelings never get said out loud, or even admitted to yourself. So it’s about finding the balance between the two.

Honne is part of the Saya collection. It’s a reminder that you’re done being a “good girl”. You’re allowed to have opinions, speak up and disagree. Save tatemae for when it’s truly needed.

莢 (さや) Saya: pod; shell

Saya means pod or shell, what protects the core. After years of running at full speed, there often comes a time when you need to step back a little and turn your attention inward, sheltered from the noise and the pressure to perform. It gives you room to get to know yourself again, and you return stronger and more confident in who you are.

Materials

Pieces come in sterling silver, 14k gold vermeil (gold-plated silver) or solid 14k gold. All jewellery is nickel free.

Gold vermeil

Gold vermeil is 925 silver coated with a layer of gold that is at least 2.5 microns thick. That is much thicker than standard gold plating (typically less than 0.1 micron), so it's more durable and lasts far longer.

Chains

Chains come in 925 silver or 18k gold vermeil (18k gold-plated 925 silver).

The gold vermeil chains have a 5 micron layer of gold, twice the usual minimum thickness for vermeil, so they hold up better to daily wear.

Caring for your jewellery

With proper care, your jewellery will stay in good condition for a long time.

~ Avoid exposing jewellery to chlorine, salt water and products such as lotion, hairspray and perfume.

~ Take your jewellery off before going to bed or exercising.

~ Store your pieces in a dry place, in individual bags or separate compartments, to avoid scratches.

Cleaning your jewellery

To remove dirt and grease, clean your pieces with a soft toothbrush, warm water and a mild dish soap. Dry completely with a soft cloth. Do not use toothpaste: it is too abrasive and may damage your jewellery.

Sterling silver and solid gold pieces can also be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner. Gold vermeil should not be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Removing tarnish

Because they contain copper, sterling silver and gold alloys can tarnish over time. To remove tarnish and bring back the shine, buff gently with a jewellery polishing cloth. Polishing cloths are mildly abrasive, so apply gentle pressure and do not over-polish, especially on gold vermeil.

Note: Do not use the polishing cloth on oxidised silver. It will remove the intentional dark finish.
